Nestling in the Var hinterland, in the town of Le Cannet-des-Maures, Château des Bertrands lies at the heart of the Maures Nature Reserve. A historic Côtes de Provence flagship vineyard, its unique geology and the patient dedication of its teams yield character-filled wines.
"Our vineyard has resisted time, trends and extremes of every kind. Here, the soil and vine give their all, creating a communion that delights gourmets from the world over. There are many types of Côtes de Provence wine, each with its own geological and climatic personality: the Maritime Coast, the High Country, the Beausset Basin, Sainte-Victoire mountain, Fréjus, La Londe, Pierrefeu and, of course, Notre-Dame-des-Anges. At Château des Bertrands, at the foot of "our" mountain, we do our utmost to produce accomplished and genuinely-typical wines, unveiling a unique terroir born many centuries ago."
Mediterranean varietals, in particular Cinsault and Grenache, grown on sandstone soil, endow the wines with a remarkable structure and mineral taste, combining finesse and delicacy.
The Château des Bertrands wines are made from grapes grown in the 198-acre vineyard, currently converting to organic growing. Although rosé wine prevails, we are also committed to producing fine whites and reds.
